Special Care Program
In response to the recognition of our Residents’ intensified specific needs, we have developed a separate Special Care program that exceeds the established standard residential personal care services of The GreenView Inn.
The special intimately designed living accommodations of our Special Care Unit provide and promote preservation of dignity, safe and secure private personalized space, familiarity of surroundings, and the comfort of an appropriately controlled environment with emphasis on reduction of anxiety. An increased care giver to Resident ratio intensifies and expands resident supervision and attention. Direct cueing and hands-on assistance allows maximum attention and supervision to the residents’ proper nutrition and hydration. Special individualized activities establish a means of ensuring resident satisfaction and contentment.
Our staff receives specialized training for dementia care with emphasis on providing personalized care that preserves dignity and privacy in a loving and calming manner. Resident care begins with a thorough knowledge of each Resident’s needs and preferences. An assessment tool is used to determine whether a Resident may benefit from the programming and services provided in Special Care and serves as a helpful reference guide in our ongoing assessment process.
Several planned, supervised activities are offered on a daily basis including exercise, music, domestic functions, reminiscing and more to enhance individual interests and abilities.
We utilize a silent state of the art monitoring system that preserves dignity, security and comfort. The award-winning Resident monitoring system provides Residents suffering from dementia with a means of summoning help when they are no longer able to understand how to work a conventional nurse call system. In addition, the data recorded through the monitoring system can be used to improve the level of care provided to your loved one.
The Monitoring System Difference:
- Strategically-placed sensors continually monitor the room to detect irregular behavior such as extended time out of bed or in the bathroom, departing room, incontinence and agitation or restlessness.
- By using the bed-exit pad, staff are notified when an at-risk resident gets out of bed, thus potentially reducing or avoiding falls.
- Incontinence sensors alert staff immediately while sophisticated software tracks all incidents allowing a toileting plan to be established.
- Motion sensors detect wandering behaviors, preventing resident-to-resident incidents from occurring.
