Residency Guidelines

To insure an optimal level of health, a licensed nurse and resident assistants are on duty 24 hours per day to monitor and assist with all aspects of daily living including personal care. The GreenView Inn is licensed as a Residential Care Facility by the Ohio Department of Health and is limited to the scope of care defined by Residential Care Rules and Regulations.

Mobility
Residents may be ambulatory and/or require assistive devices such as walkers or wheelchairs. It is necessary that residents are able to transfer easily with minimal assistance. Residents requiring assistive devices may utilize them independently or with assistance from staff.
Behavior
The GreenView Inn respects the right of all residents to a safe environment. Residents must be able to communicate needs, be oriented to person or place and be able to respond to basic re-orientation cues and cooperate with direction from staff. Any behavior that would jeopardize the health, safety, physical, or mental status of the Resident, other Residents, or staff would be inappropriate for residency.
Activities of Daily Living
Activities of daily living include, but are not limited to, grooming, hygiene and dressing. Assistance with bathing, oral care, basic hygiene and grooming needs are provided by staff members.
Bowel/Bladder Control
Residents with incontinence needs are assisted by staff by developing an individualized routine to help maintain and control incontinence episodes. The Resident requiring this assistance must be willing to wear protection and accept assistance.
Medication Assistance
Residents may self administer medications with the physician’s written permission. Licensed nurses are on staff 24 hours per day to administer medications to those residents unable to safely manage medications independently.
Special Services
Special Services may include assisting with oxygen needs or respiratory treatments, special dietary services, or any services not listed that would require extra daily care by the staff.

Special Care Residency Guidelines

  • The Personal Services Assessment indicates that the preservation of the resident’s safety and well being is not secure with the extent of assistance and supervision provided on the first four levels of care.
  • The resident is limited in regard to cognition/ psychosocial orientation, thus requires regular and consistent reorientation and/or direction, and continual supervision and monitoring with all activities of daily living.
  • The resident has significantly diminished motivation, thus, requires ongoing encouragement, direction, and /or hands on assistance in regard to activities of daily living
  • The resident’s physical and/or mental debilitation dictates the need for hands-on assistance with nutritional intake

In addition to GreenView’s established residency guidelines and the special care program guidelines, the following conditions will dictate the need for other appropriate placement.

  • Physical combativeness, uncontrollable aggression, or consistent uncooperative behavior, which may jeopardize the resident’s staff’s, or other resident’s safety and well being.
  • A condition requiring management of physical or chemical restraints.
